Accredited Course: Personal Licence Course – Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH)

This qualification, regulated by both Ofqual and the Home Office, has been designed to meet the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. Furthermore, whilst comprehensively covering the full framework as set down by the Government, this qualification is extremely straight-forward, user-friendly and free of unnecessary jargon. It also provides excellent value for money without compromising on quality.

Achievement of this qualification forms an essential part of the personal licence application. It enables those selling or authorising alcohol sales to operate both legally and responsibly.

Attendees of this Personal Licence Course will receive a fully accredited certificate upon successful completion of the examination, which can then be used to apply for the Personal Alcohol Licence.

What does it cover?

The aim of this qualification is to provide individuals with essential knowledge of the legal framework surrounding the sale of alcohol in England and Wales. This includes key information on the responsibilities of personal licence holders, duties of the designated premises supervisor, the role of licensing authorities and police powers regarding licensed premises.

Booking Information

You will receive a call from our tutor within 48 hours of booking to confirm a date, time and venue.

The cost is £175 plus any travel expenses.

Exam and Certificate

Exam: you will be assessed by a 1 hour, 40-question multiple-choice examination. Learners must achieve a mark of at least 28 in order to pass. The results are released on the same day.

Certificate: Once passed the certificate will be issued within 5-7 working days; learners can then apply for their personal licence with the local authority, or contact us at JSH Solutions as we offer an administrative service to do this on your behalf.

Personal Licence Course information – on the day

Time: The time and location will be chosen with you at the time of booking.
Course structure: Theory followed by multiple choice exam. The exam consists of 40 questions and lasts for 1 hour.
Resources: All candidates receive a course handbook to keep
Certificates: Results are released on the same day; certificates are issued within 5-7 working days
